ANNOUNCEMENTS

Every year since 2012, the International Students For Liberty Conference (ISFLC) has featured a presidential straw poll. While many conferences feature a straw poll, ISFLC’s is particularly interesting because libertarians have no loyalty to any particular party. The 2016 results demonstrate this well, with a Republican, Libertarian, and independent candidate taking the top five.

Check out our 2016 results:

  1. Ted Cruz (Republican) – 29.9%
  2. Austin Petersen (Libertarian) – 28.6%
  3. Gary Johnson (Libertarian) – 11.7%
  4. Ben Carson (Republican) – 8.9%
  5. Vermin Supreme (Independent) – 6.3%
  6. Donald Trump (Republican) – 4.5%
  7. Bernie Sanders (Democrat) – 3.6%
  8. Marco Rubio (Republican) – 2.7%
  9. John Kasich (Republican) – 1.5%
  10. John McAfee (Libertarian) – 1.5%
  11. Hillary Clinton (Democrat) – 0.6%
